"Ciela" Unheated Hexagon Sapphire from Madagasar

Ciela features an unheated teal Madagascan sapphire. 

In the day, Ciela is a beautiful blue colour, but in the evening light or under artificial light she shows up as a beautiful greeny-blue. And, if you catch her in just the right light, there is a beautiful milky-blue glow that comes from one side. This is nature's fingerprint in the stone.  It reminds me of the glow of the Milky Way. 

In my research of what different cultures call the Milky Way, I found that in China, they call it the "silver river" and in Japan they call it the "river of heaven." Both names evoke  imagery that remind me of my time as a kid, walking home through the fields and looking up into the vastness the night sky. 

Ciela is a Spanish name meaning 'heavenly' and 'celestial.'

Ciela would make a beautiful engagement ring, which would stand the test of time. I look forward to her finding a new home. 

Set in platinum in a pierced basket featuring a 1.94 ct unheated teal sapphire and 8 small diamonds in the shoulder to give the ring that little extra sparkle.
